Privacy Policy

The eHealth Institute is strongly committed to protecting your privacy and data security. We do not share or sell personal information collected through our Web site with anyone without your prior written consent. We only release personal information to third parties if we are required to do so because of legal requirements, such as a law enforcement, regulation, or court order.

What Information is Collected and How it is Used

Personal information collected on our site consists of information submitted voluntarily during the conference (e.g., Developers' Summit) registration process or in an email inquiry. Registration information includes personal information, such as name, title, affiliation, address, email address, and biography. These data are used to identify people who plan to attend the conference. All personal information is stored in a secured database. This information will be posted in a password-protected area of the conference Web site that is accessible only to fellow meeting participants.

For those who contact us but do not register for a conference, the only personal information that you provide is your email address. We only use this information to respond to your request.

Submitting Abstracts

Conference registrants may also submit a proposed Summit abstract or enter into a competition through the Web site. The identity of the authors submitting abstracts are only shared with Summit staff, the planning committee, and reviewers when appropriate. Abstracts selected for presentation become public information and are part of the official program. Abstracts that are not selected for presentation are not shared with anyone outside of the conference organizers.

Updating Information

Conference participants can update their personal contact information by using the update contact information feature on the Participant site.

Opting-out of Emails

Personal information, such as email address, may be used to contact meeting attendees in the future (e.g., to send alerts about future meetings). Those who do not wish to receive further communications can opt-out by sending an email to summit2005@eHealthInstitute.org.

IP Addresses, Cookies, Tracking

We collect and log IP addresses of visitors to manage our site and to gather aggregate information about visitors and site use. We do not associate IP addresses with personal information.

We use cookies only to facilitate your navigation of this web site. We do not use cookies or any other technology to track your activities.

Children's Privacy

Our site is not intended for children (under 18), and we do not collect personally identifiable information from any person we know to be under 18.

Registration and Credit Card Processing

Our online conference registration system uses SSL, the industry standard encryption technology. This ensures that your personal information, including your credit card number, cannot be read as it travels over the Internet. We have selected Bank of America to process online credit card payments for our conferences. During the registration process, registrants will be forwarded to Bank of America's agent, Cybersource for real-time processing of credit card payment. Registrants are encouraged to read their privacy policy.

The eHealth Institute does not collect or store any credit card numbers on its Web site or in its databases.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may modify our Privacy Policy from time to time by posting revisions on this Web site. Please review the Privacy Policy each time you use the Web site.
